Mountain Lion

$34.00

The cougar (Puma concolor) is the Guiness world record holder for the animal with the most names, with over 40 just in English. It is most commonly called the panther, puma, mountain lion and, in Vermont, the catamount. These big cats roam areas all over the Americas, from Canada to Chile. Mountain lions live in a wide range of habitats, but these reclusive animals prefer rocky areas with dense undergrowth. They are ambush hunters and do not need to be  particularly fast, but they are impressive jumpers, able to cover up to 40 feet horizontally and 18 vertically in one leap!
