Fingering

Probably the prettiest pattern for pooling/striping colorways I’ve ever seen! Great for those crazy high-contrast colorways that just demand to be made into socks. The socks are worked toe-up and the heel flap and gusset ensure a great fit. The simple travelling stitches worked on the instep and leg create a fun texture that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Sock length is adaptable to your needs, just use the handy formula provided in the pattern.

Emblem Socks

A textured sock, knit in the round from the top down. Instructions are both written and charted. Perfect for our Botany collection colorways.

Wildfibers Socks

Designer: Julieanna Knits

Base: Spruce Fingering

Yardage: 400 - 600 yards (366 - 549 m)

Wildfibers socks feature a simple 3x2 ribbing with an eyelet design to add some interest. The pattern is written for magic loop, but DPNs can be substituted. This pattern works for one at a time or two at a time socks. The pattern uses an afterthought heel, which is helpful when using a contrast color for the heel.

Oriole Pride Mitts

Worked in a double strand of yarn. Combine your favorite colorway with a coordinating semisolid, use two semisolids, or just double your favorite color!

Avalar Fingerless Mitts

Avalar Hat

Diamonds Hat

This two color brioche hat looks amazing in contrasting solids, it really makes the stitch work pop!

Bay Ridge Baby Beanie

A knit hat for newborns, worked bottom-up in 2 colors of fingering weight yarn (perfect for combining a colorway with a high contrast coordinating semisolid. It’s an intermediate pattern due to a simple cable detail, but it’s very straightforward once you get the hang of it!

One Way or Another

Oriflamme Shawl

Swizzle Shawl

Designer: Jennifer Kirchenbauer of LavishCraft

This intermediate level pattern features a colorway and two semisolids, go neutral or bold, either way it’s bound to look gorgeous.

Cloverleaf Shawl

Designer: Joanne Witzkowski

Base: Spruce Fingering

Yardage: 800 yards (732 m)

This side-to-side shawl combines the Tunisian simple stitch (TSS) with the Tunisian drop stitch (TDS) in alternating pairs of rows - remember that each row of Tunisian crochet consists of a forward pass (FP) and a reverse pass (RP.) All the increases and decreases occur along the right edge only, while the left edge remains straight. This shaping creates a triangle with the center point rounded. There are two finishing variations – a regular crocheted edge or tassels on the points.

Aerialist

Fall Wheat

Designer: Marina Storm

This sweater  has a bottom-up construction and it is knit in the round. It is based on repetitions of a very easy-to-memorize lace pattern. It has ribbing on the neck and the hips. The sleeves can be adjusted to your desired length.

Flutterby Cowl

I think this colorwork cowl works best with two high-contrasting semisolids to really allow the pattern to shine.

TAATTU Socks

Designer: Juliette Williams

TAATTU stands for two-at-a-time, toe-up. This sock formula features TAATTU construction using magic loop and the Fleegle Heel, which is a short-row heel with no heel flap or picked up stitches. The formula can be adapted to fit any foot size. Stitch patterns can be applied to the foot and leg of the sock, provided they fit within the stitch count determined by your gauge and foot size.

A Fresh Slant

Travelogue

Pumpkin Pi

Pumpkin Pi is the first in this designer’s  series of half-pi shawls, all based around traditional kinds of pie. Each will feature a custom lace pattern, and you can expect a variety of colors and yarn weights to match the seasons. Pumpkin Pi features her technique of encoded lace. The lace repeats are easy to memorize and the ruffled edge is like the crimped edges of a homemade pie crust.

Vinalhaven Island Cardigan

Vinalhaven Island Cardigan features cables along the front closure and down the back. It is a round-neck, raglan-sleeved cardigan has the button bands integrated as you work the body; therefore, there’s no finishing aside from weaving ends and attaching buttons. Sideshow

This pattern can be found in issue five of Nomadic Knits, which is available to purchase in print, through their website and at select local yarn shops, or as a digital download through Ravelry. Knit top-down as a classic raglan-style pullover initially, all bets are off once you reach the sleeve divide. Side panels are worked in intarsia with four colors each; you can use the same four colors on each side or use eight colors in total!

Circus Lights

This pattern can be found in issue five of Nomadic Knits, which is available to purchase in print through their website and at select local yarn shops, or as a digital download through Ravelry. This scarf, which is really wide enough to be a wrap, is a fun choose-your-own-adventure project. Use as few or as many colors as you’d like for the polka dots, spaced as far apart or as close together as you want. Get matchy-matchy, or knit it like a memory blanket using leftovers from other projects or souvenir minis from vacation LYS visits. Finish it off with the biggest pom poms you can make!
