Native to the grasslands of Australia, the Gouldian Finch is prized for its striking plumage, and often bred in captivity. In the wild, the vast majority of Gouldian Finches sport Black heads, with a small percentage with red heads and less than one percent with yellow. There are currently 25,000 or so individuals left in the wild.
