American Marten
American Martens (Martes americana) live in forested regions all across northern North America. They are from 1.5 to 2.2 feet long and weigh from 1 to 3 pounds. Females give birth to litters of between one and five kits. Their fur is dense and water-repellent. These weasels often travel under deep snow. They are skilled hunters and climbers, able to pursue prey both on the ground and in the trees.
