Here are a bunch of beautiful patterns we think you might enjoy!

Spruce Fingering:

Climbing Mountains, by Susan Gressman

This super fun pattern combines a variety of stitch patterns in 3 colors. Our Spruce Fingering base is perfect for this pattern, as the tight twist lends the garment excellent stitch definition. While the pattern calls for one colorway and two coordinating semisolids, it looks great in a variety of colorways as well. We recommend our Botany, Aquatic or Geology colorways for this garment, with a compliment of semisolids. Go soft and subtle with May’s colorway ‘Cherry Blossoms’, coordinating semisolid ‘Cherry Bark Brown’ and Ornithology semisolid ‘Olive Egg’. Here are two beautiful examples knit up using our yarn in whole or in part:

Spruce Fingering:

The Shift, By Andrea Mowry

This very popular pattern calls for 3 skeins of sport weight yarn, but can be easily knit up in our Spruce or Alder Fingering bases. It calls for 600 yards, which makes it ideal for our 50g fingering miniskeins! Mix and match your favorites to knit up this super cute garment that is easy to wear and style! Perfect for folks who love the idea of a shawl, but don’t know quite how to wear them, or for someone who’s always on the go, and needs a garment that will stay put!

One of our fans knit one up and loved it so much she went back and knit another! This pattern looks excellent in both colorways and semisolids, making it a fantastic stash buster.

Spruce Fingering:

Sunset Highway, By Caitlin Hunter

This gorgeous sweater pattern would look fantastic in both our Spruce or Alder bases. Like a firm stitch? Go with Spruce! Want a softer, drapier sweater? Then Alder is your best bet! The pattern calls for one Main Color with 3 contrasting colors, though a subtle fade through the main body would also be exquisite.

This specific example was knit in a variety of yarns, including Round Mountain Fibers. We often recommend a combination of a more affordable (factory dyed) base for the main color, so you can save your dollars for the perfect Round Mountain Fibers accent colors. Want to knit it up entirely in Round Mountain Fibers? Any of our Botany colorways would make a gorgeous main color, with botany semisolids to coordinate. We also think this sweater would look gorgeous in May’s Ornithology Colorway ‘Arctic Tern Egg’ for the main color, with ‘Tern Egg Olive’, ‘Cherry Bark Brown’ and ‘Lady Blue’ for the coordinating semisolids.

Alder Fingering:

Harlow Hat by Andrea Mowry

This fingering weight brioche beanie is perfect for the Brioche beginner! Combined with our Super Soft Alder fingering yarn, this beanie will be your go-to when there’s a chill in the air. Go wild with a high contrast pair of colorway and semisolid, or go subtle, with two semisolids in a similar shade. We think this hat would look fantastic in May’s Botany Club colorway “Cherry Blossoms” and coordinating semisolid “Cherry Bark Brown”.

Alder Fingering:

Sipila by Caitlin Hunter

This super pretty sweater can be knit up in both short and long sleeves, and would feel fantastic in our super soft Alder fingering weight yarn. The pattern calls for two colors, in high contrast. We think this would look soft and elegant in May’s Ornithology Club colorway ‘Arctic Tern Egg’ for the main color, and May’s Entomology semisolid ‘Lady Blue’ for the yoke!

The Shiftalong Hat by Andrea Mowry

This super cute hat can be knit up in a variety of colors. We love this particular shiftalong hat that features pops of color on a neutral background! Achieve a similar effect using our Pale Gray semisolid and May’s Entomology Club colorway ‘Painted Lady Butterfly’.

https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Colleenharty/shiftalong

Walanda by Katrin Schubert

This gorgeous brioche hat would look great in two high contrast semisolids, or a colorway and coordinating semisolid. We’d love it in May’s entomology colors, ‘Painted Lady Butterfly’ and ‘Lady Blue’!

Willow Worsted:

Squelch Cowl by Jennifer Kirchenbauer of LavishCraft

We love the squelch cowl, and we especially love it in our super squishy Willow Worsted yarn! We’d love to see it knit up in this month’s Entomology club colors!

Willow Worsted:

Advancing Lines Hat by Lavanya Patricella

We love a squishy hat!!! And nothing is quite as squishy as brioche in our super soft  Willow Worsted yarn! Are you a brioche expert? Why not go subtle with our Ornithology collection this month.

Spruce Worsted:

Zhu Bamoo Scarf by Jennifer Kirchenbauer of LavishCraft

This is the perfect marriage of pattern and yarn. Our Spruce Worsted yarn has super high twist for fantastic stitch definition! Go bold with a deep red semisolid, as in our example. Or go subtle with one of this month’s club semisolids! We think it would be handsome in Botany club’s Cherry Bark Brown.

Spruce Worsted:

Flax by Tin Can Knits

This is the perfect beginner sweater. It looks great in our Spruce worsted, that makes the stitches pop! Made a mistake an need to frog a few rows? No worries, our Spruce Worsted holds up to frogging, making it an excellent beginner’s yarn. This beautiful example is knit up in our Jay Green semisolid. Want a few pops of color? We think this is the perfect pattern to try our our new Geology Club in ‘Chalcopyrite’!

Spruce Worsted:

Sunspots by @guarionex on Ravelry

As many of you know, cowls are my favorite garments. They’re quick, easy, and you can make them up as you go along! This beautiful cowl reminds us of honeycomb. We’d love to see it knit up in our Mustard Yellow… but it would lend itself to just about any semisolid. It looks like a fun knit! For a super subtle elegant look, try Ornithology club semisolid ‘Tern Egg Olive’.
