March 2023 Newsletter!

Hi Everyone!

While April was downright balmy here in Southern Vermont, winter has returned and has covered all the trees and slopes with a nice dusting of snow. As they say in Vermont, if you don’t like the weather just wait 5 minutes! My husband took this beautiful picture of bird prints in the snow! Most likely Junco prints.

While the snow makes it feel quite wintery, the birds are sure that Spring is around the corner. We’ve seen Chickadees making their spring call, Cedar Waxwings have been flocking together, Robins are calling, Geese are flying north in large flocks, and the Vultures are back, roosting in the pines by our house in the evenings. A little red squirrel has appeared in the neighborhood, the first resident red squirrel in our patch of woods since we moved to this neighborhood 10 years ago.

So here’s what’s new this month!

Our LYS Exclusive Ornithology and Aquatic Club colors are:

Tufted Coquette & Coquette Green and Psychedelic Batwing Seaslug & Seaslug Brown

If you are interested in purchasing these colors, please contact your LYS and ask them to sign up! As of right now, Notion and Love Yarn Shop are subscribed to the Ornithology Club (Notion is subscribed to the colorway on Willow Worsted and Love Yarn Shop is subscribed to both the colorway and semisolid on Alder Fingering). Yesterdays Ewes is subscribed to the Aquatic Club (Both the colorway and the semisolid on Alder Fingering). You can always contact any of these stores and ask them to order any of the LYS exclusive colors on other bases - Shops that are subscribed to any of the clubs can order any club on any base for you.

I’ve decided to extend our February Island Fundraiser through the month of March because I was too busy to promote it properly! The colorway and coordinating semisolid are inspired by a photo I took of traps and ropes by their working waterfront. We are huge fans of the Vinalhaven community, and want to support this incredible place by giving 50% of the proceeds from the sale of these colors to the Vinalhaven Historical Society, a non-profit organization that provides incredible records for island families and visitors alike.

Speaking of Vinalhaven… Corrine Walcher’s beautiful Vinalhaven inspired sweater patterns are available on Ravelry! If cabled sweaters are your jam, you MUST check these gorgeous designs out!

Find these patterns on Ravelry!

Meanwhile, our mystery bundle bins are full to overflowing from designing all these clubs and the 2023 collection! Mystery Bundles are always 50% off at www.roundmountainfibers.com/sale.

Our 2022 collection is now Dye to Order, which means you need to order a minimum of 5 skeins at a time. That being said… we do have some inventory left in stock! Rather than add them to our overflowing mystery bundle bins, we’ve decided to list those for sale on our site! Since our studio is quite small, we need to sell these to make room for all the new colors, so head over there and get them before they’re gone, and use coupon code ‘2022’ to get 50% off those colors!

And that is what’s new for March!

Hope you are all well, and we look forward to filling your orders!

Sincerely,
