THE AQUATIC COLLECTION!
As you may have seen on our social media, we have added a new monthly Club! The Aquatic Collection! The Aquatic collection is insprired by underwater creatures, and will be our first collection to feature speckles! The Aquatic Collection semisolids fade from one end of the skein to the other for a more variegated effect than our regular semisolids. We love them and we’re sure you will too!
WILLOW DK AND WORSTED!
We have added new bases for the new year! The Willow base is our new super soft, squishy, glossy, and drapey base sourced from Canada. The Willow base comes in both DK and Worsted weights. These bases are fantastic for next-to-skin garments and garments where you want more drape than our sturdy Spruce bases can offer. Despite their softness, our Willow bases still have great stitch definition (though maybe not quite as defined as the definition you’ve come to love and appreciate in our Spruce line).

High twist for increased durability and stitch definition.

JANUARY’S CLUB COLORS!
This month’s club colors are inspired by the flora and fauna of Honduras, the third country I lived in as a child. I was fortunate to have homeschooled during that time and spent many hours sitting on the roof of our house eating mangos until my stomach ached! I have many fond memories of my time there. This collection seems timely given the number of migrants fleeing this beautiful country right now. Even when I lived there, a lot of my friends’ moms would travel to the US to work and send money home for their families. Honduras has a history of political upheaval but it also has a thriving eco tourism industry, and I would encourage you, if you’ve ever wanted to visit Central America, to put Honduras on your list! Did you know that the Bay Islands of Honduras have the second largest coral reef after the Great Barrier Reef? Hence the birth of the Aquatic Club…

DRUNK YARN CLUB:
Want to receive a Drunk Yarn kit EVERY MONTH? Then sign up for Drunk Yarn Club! Receive a kit in each of our 6 flavors over the course of 6 months! Each kit contains our 100% Superwash Merino bases and dye packets. Choose from Single Skein or Gradient kits, in all of our bases! Available in Spruce Fingering, Spruce Worsted, Willow DK, and Willow Worsted.
This speckled effect was achieved using our new Drunk Yarn dye packets. Simply unwind and lay your pre-soaked skein in a microwave safe dish, fill half way with water (don’t cover the skein), sprinkle the packet onto the skein, and then cook for 2 minute intervals until the water becomes mostly clear and the skein is hot to the touch. Allow to cool.
We also updated our Drunk Yarn packaging! The new packaging features packets of powdered dye and citric acid rather than gelatin capsules. These new packets keep your pots and pans tidier and allow you to be more creative with dyeing your yarn (think speckles or adjusting the color to your desired hue).

NEW FOR 2019! FAN CLUB:
Welcome to the first ever Round Mountain Fibers Fan Club!
To become a Fan Club member, subscribe to our Fan Club (6 month and 12 month subscriptions available) to receive one 100g skein of yarn dyed in a colorway we will design together! Choose your base, and don’t worry, if you end up wanting more than 1 skein one month, we’ll have a password protected Fan Club page where you can order additional skeins!
Fan Club members will receive access to a Private Facebook Group, where we will design the color of the month together! We will gather everyone’s ideas through a series of surveys, and you’ll have input into the design as it evolves! For example, we vote on a color preference, then on a dyeing approach, then we’ll vote on mockups dyed up on paper towels. Just like Willow and I do when we design our Club colorways!
This club is not for folks with very specific color and style tastes. This is a club for the adventurous. The lovers of color. The feeders of stashes… or shall I say ‘Yarn Collection Curators’?
